Although there is an official app for Windows Live Messenger for Windows Phone 7, there is new app called Li’Messenger, which is again a Live messenger client for WP7. It seems the app is much better than the official app. The app is completely free of cost and free from ads.

Li’Messenger supports Facebook chat, a feature which was introduced to Live Messenger recently. Another important feature of this app is that it supports Multiple Points of Presence (MPOP), which means signing in to Messenger via this app on your WP7 will not sign you out of all other places you’re currently signed in to.
