Speech Recognition on Windows Phone 7

One of the attractive feature of the Windows Phone 7 is its Speech recognition function. Using the Speech recognition WM7 owners will be able to accomplish standard commands only by using their voice without having to press keys. To start a speech, users must press and hold the start key and the phone will prompt for speech.

Users can use this speech recognition feature to call any person listed in the contacts by speaking “Call Contact name”, where the “contact name” is the name of a person listed in the phone’s phonebook.

Another way to call a person would be “Call phone number”, you can replace the phone number with the actual phone number.

“Find search term” or “Search for search term” is another frequently used voice command, where “search term” is the term a user wants to search the web with.

The “Open application” or “Start application” voice command is a handy tool to open a certain app such as Calendar, Maps or Music.
