Battery is one of the most important aspect of any mobile phone. Generally smartphones tend to have lower battery experience because of the fact that it might be connected to Internet most of the time and also various apps running. Windows Phone 7 also has a very good hardware and battery, but you can always optimize it for best performance. Here are some simple steps to increase the battery life on Windows Phone 7.

1. Reduce the time before the screen turns off
You can set a shorter Screen time-out duration and also set your phone to lock when screen turns off. This helps save battery power and also prevents your phone from turning on by accident when you put it away. You can set the screen time out from Settings-> Lock and Wallpaper.

2. Lower the brightness setting:
You can decrease the brightness of your screen, this can be done from Settings-> Brightness and then select turn off Automatically adjust and then select the Level that you want to use instead.

3. Turn off connections that you’re not using:
Windows Phone 7 comes with lots of connectivity options, turn off connections which you are not using like Bluetooth, WiFi etc.
4. Use a dark background theme
