Research In Motion announced the launch of its powerful BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone in India, while also stating that the device is set to become available all around the country starting with January 28, 2010. This new handset will be available through carriers like Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, Idea Cellular, Loop Mobile, MTNL, Reliance, Tata and Vodafone and also available in retail stores.

The specs and features list of BlackBerry Bold 9700 also includes a 624 MHz CPU and 256 MB of flash memory, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, a 2.44-inch display, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connectivity, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, built-in GPS, 1,500 mAhr battery, and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage space. Not to mention the BlackBerry OS 5.0 it runs under, or the support for BlackBerry Internet Service, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry App World and more.
The price of Bold 9700 should be close to the price of existing BlackBerry Bold 9000 which is around 31k INR.
