How to Configure Push Email on Windows Mobile

Push e-mail is used to describe e-mail systems where in the new E-mail is instantly and actively transferred (pushed) as it arrives by the mail delivery agent (MDA) to the mail user agent (MUA), also called the E-mail client. E-mail clients include smartphones and also IMAP personal computer mail applications. Microsoft began offering a simulated push experience with Windows Mobile 2003, and true push technology in 2007. Push Email in Windows Mobile works only with Hotmail and if you want to send and receive other accounts like Gmail, you need to push them to Hotmail ID. Alternatively you can configure Gmail using POP3 access.

Once you have a Hotmail account, all you have to do is:

1. Open Windows Live on your mobile.

2. Enter your Live mail login information and the password.

3. Click on menu and selection options.

4. Select Sync Schedule.

5. Under frequency, select “as items arrive.”

Now you will receive all your emails in phone as and when it arrives in you Hotmail inbox.
